Saturday, August 12, 2023 -Kitale-based St. Anthony Boys High thrashed Dagoretti High School 2-0 in a win that was showcased at the Kakamega’s Bukhungu Stadium on Saturday.
The thrilling match which was attended to full capacity left fans excited as St. Anthony camp continued dominating both first and second half of the match.
Dagortetti, though tried perform, they appeared to struggle all through the game with little to boast about as they had almost none corner kicks despite the Kitale based St. Anthony having as many corner kicks as possible.
The Saturday win for the Kitale boys in the 2023 Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association KSSSA national football match finals has left Western Region ‘shoulders high’ in the National School games.
Aldrine Kibet scored the first goal for St. Anthony’s Boys in the first half of the thrilling weekend game.
The Kitale-based school added its second goal through Kibet, yet again, at the tail end of the second half, 89th minute, sealing the much-needed victory.
Pundits described this victory in the finals as a painful revenge of sorts since Dagoretti High School had beaten St. Anthony in the group match 1-0.
“We demand that Harambee stars coach should do a call up to Aldrine kibet to the 1st team. The boy is super talented all the way from Eldama Ravine,” Chepseron Ian Sabul commented.
Both schools, Dagoretti and St. Anthony, will, however, represent Kenya in the East African Community football game.
Scorer, Aldrine Kibet, from St. Anthony’s Boys High School Kitale is currently trending Number One after showcasing an unmatched talent in the KSSSA School Games held in Kakamega.
The school boy has been praised for his master juggles to super goals.
