Tuesday, January 5, 2021 -Irungu Kang’ata is not the author of the controversial letter which found its way to the mainstream media on Monday January 4th evening. ODM has claimed.
In a new twist of events, a section of Orange Democratic Movement ODM politicians have now claimed that senior people in government were using the senator to push their anti-BBI agenda with an intention to bringing it to a sudden end.
Through a Tuesday Twitter post, Homa Bay Town MP Peter Apondo Kaluma noted that this was a scheme by some powerful individuals in government to scuttle the Building Bridges gospel for obvious reasons.
“We are not welded to anyone. Let no one blackmail us! We’ve seen it all. We’re suicidal. We’ll be Solomon if you play wise with us; we can be Samson if you play games with us,” read the tweet, which the lawmaker later claimed was about the 2022succession contest which they are aware of.
On his part, ODM political affairs secretary Opiyo Wandayi described Kang’ata’s hard hitting letter as unhealthy at the time the Handshake was moving on so well.
“I suppose if the advisory is genuine or authentic, it should have been confidential and the President would be the one to choose whether to share it with other people or not.
“The issues raised could be pertinent but the manner they are presented raises more questions than answers,” Wandayi stated.
Other sources within the corridors of power further noted that this was a well calculated move to warn Mr. Odinga against preaching the BBI gospel in Central Kenya a region which might be planning to blatantly reject it.
