Tuesday, August 29, 2023 –Police officers may start putting on a new design police uniform following a proposal made today with an intention of collecting views from the public.
The National Police Service NPS invited members of the public to participate in the selection process for the proposed Kenya Police Service uniform.
This could see the new uniform move from the navy-blue coloured shirts and trousers to the normal navy blue.
Homenews.co.ke had a privilege to look at the new uniforms and established that the colour has been reversed back to Navy-blue.
Ther will be an option for both long and short sleeves and will have the Kenyan flag on its right hand side.
On the left side will be the official National Police Service NPS logo.
Heading towards the last general election, both William Ruto and his then running mate, Rigathi Gachgua discussed the police uniforms and threatened to do away with the Matiang’I’s blue coloured once they take charge.
For instance, Rigathi was on record blasting Matiang’i and former President Uhuru Kenyatta for punishing the police with poorly-designed uniforms.
Members of the public have been urged to help give views on the new uniform unveiled today in Nairobi by Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome.
