Thursday, September 7, 2023 –Today, President William Ruto took a flight out of the country for the Africa Food Systems Summit taking place in the neighboring Tanzania.
The host, Samia Suluhu, is expected to receive a number of African leaders who will be participating in the 13th Summit whose aim is to deliberate on food security around the continent.
Statehouse Spokesperson, Hussein Mohammed, mentioned that, his boss William Ruto had flown to Tanzania for an official duty and as part of the continuation of the Climate Change Summit which ended yesterday at the KICC Nairobi.
The Tanzanian event will see leaders consult on innovation and sustainability especially on the farming and larger Agriculture sector.
“The Africa Food Systems Forum brings together a diverse group of stakeholders, including experts, policymakers, and representatives from various sectors of the food industry.
“Networking and Partnerships The forum serves as a unique platform for CEOs to build meaningful connections and partnerships within the food and agriculture sector,” read the statement from the Statehouse.
The event which started on September 5 is expected to end on Friday September 8 with little mention on when Ruto will jet back to Kenya.
While in Tanzania, Dr. Ruto will be holding a sideline discussion alongside Suluhu, President Macky Sall (Senegal) and Evariste Ndayishimiye (Burundi).
Later in the evening, the Kenyan head of State will have to join other presidents for a royal gala dinner organized at the Statehouse, Tanzania.
