Saturday, September 9, 2023 –Kenya Power and Lighting Company KPLC has announced a temporary interruption of their vending PayBill systems.
In an announcement seen by Homenews.Co.ke on Saturday September 8 morning, the utility provider prepared its customers countrywide of a five hour 10 minutes scheduled maintenance of vending infrastructure for prepaid tokens.
“During this time, customers will not be able to purchase electricity tokens via prepaid Pay Bill number 888880 or Airtel Money.
“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause to our customers,” Kenya Power assured.
This means, customers will not be able to access the payment systems for tokens night of Saturday heading to Sunday dawn.
The planned maintenance will kick off at 11:50 PM on Saturday night all through into Sunday, September 10th, 2023, at 5 am.
What, therefore, this means is that those who could be stranded can still get their tokens through other available systems like banks and KPCL agents, countrywide.
This interruption also coming at the time the nation is facing regular power blackouts due to breakdown of power production lines.
Days ago, the country was plunged into a two day long power blackout with little explanation from the company on what actually transpired .
