Monday, September 18, 2023 –President William Ruto who is currently on a working tour in the United States of America U.S.A today Monday September 18 met with Kenyan investors abroad.
Ruto focused his visit at the famous Swahili Village where Kenyans throng every day to have a delicacy of Kenyan food; an enterprise that was started by a Kenyan businessman identified as Kevin Onyona.
Commending on the good work done by successful and hardworking diaspora community, President Ruto said the success he had witnessed was encouraging and pledged to support more such ideas abroad.
“Visited Swahili Village in New Jersey, United States, an enterprise run by a Kenyan businessman Kevin Onyona,” President Ruto stated.
Foreign Relations
The head of State further said that witnessing the success of thriving Kenyans abroad propels a resolve to intensify foreign relation efforts aimed at broadening opportunities for many more persons willing to carry on cross-border businesses.
He described Kenyans as known hardworking individuals who do not waste chances and opportunities coming their way.
“Kenyans are known for being hardworking, industrious and having a sharp eye for opportunities beyond our borders,” said Ruto.
Meeting with Chris Coons
The commander-in-chief also used the visit to meet with Delaware Senator Chris Coons with whom he discussed enhancement of trade and investment opportunities, fostering growth and prosperity for people from both ends.
“This collaboration also includes shared priorities such as security, counterterrorism, climate change mitigation, and the promotion of human rights and democracy,” further said Ruto.
His tour at the Swahili Village coming just days after he spent his first days in the US meeting tech gurus at the World’s Silicon Valley in San Fransisco, California Estate.
Technology at Silicon Valley
Dr. Ruto met with Google, Apple, Microsoft founders among other billionaires whom he asked to extend foot in Kenya.
He is accompanied by Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary CS Alfred Mutua and American Ambassador to Kenya Meg Whitman.
Also present is former Trade Minister Adan Mohamed whom he introduced in the US as his Cabinet Secretary for Trade and Industrialization.
