Tuesday, October 3, 2023 –United Nations UN has approved Kenya to join forces in Haiti in an effort to restore peace and calm in the war-torn nation.

Latest Monday October 2 news from the United Nations Council indicated that, 13 nations gave node to the peace mission as no votes were recorded against.

Nonetheless, Russia and China stayed away from the meeting that comprised United States U.S and United Kingdom U.K.

The gang-trolled Caribbean country has been in tatters for many years with gangs tearing apart the country since the day their former President was assassinated.

It is reported that the reason Russia and China absconded the peace UN meeting was because they hold the view that blanket use of force in Haiti will not achieve much.

But the Haiti leadership has thanked the UN for accepting to send troops in the country to help support the peace building efforts.

“More than just a simple vote, this is, in fact, an expression of solidarity with a population in distress. It’s a glimmer of hope for the people that have for too long been suffering,” Haiti’s Foreign Minister Jean Victor Geneus told the council in appreciation of the decision reached.

Kenya is now expected to lead the multinational peace force from January next year in a mission that will take at least five years.

United States of America President Joe Biden, weeks ago, lauded Kenya’s head of State for accepting to intervene in Haiti matters.

Biden promised to support the mission with billions of monies which Kenya is expected to receive any time before leaving to Haiti.

Kenya will lead the mission with 1000 police officers.
