Sunday, October 8, 2023 –Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has reacted to President William Ruto’s latest claims that Raila Odinga should support UDA candidate in 2027 elections.
Speaking in Mwingi Township, Kitui County on Sunday October 8, the former Vice President said it is in public domain that him(Kalonzo) had broken the record of supporting Raila more than anyone else.
He threatened to go to Nyanza and speak to the people to find out their feelings on who Raila should be supporting in the next elections.
Kalonzo added that he deserves support from Odinga more than Ruto does and, therefore, claims by the president that Odinga ought to support UDA are misleading.
He referenced his response to what Ruto recently told Nyanza Region residents that he will thrash Kalonzo should Raila attempt to support him(Kalonzo).
“Today I have seen the current President William Ruto saying that he will compete with me in 2027,” Kalonzo said.
On Saturday, October 7, Ruto asked Raila, who was once his close ally, to reciprocate the support he received in 2007 by supporting his 2027 Statehouse bid.
“I was a Baba ardent supporter together with others, we came together and supported him but unfortunately, we never clinched the Presidency. I have voted for Baba and I am calling on him to support me in 2027,” Ruto said in Homa Bay.
While exuding confidence in his re-election chances in 2027, the commander-in-chief said he will have a field day walking over Kalonzo should Azimio decide to front him.
Ruto is currently on development tour in Nyanza, a Raila stronghold.
