Government Appoints KNUT Boss Collins Oyuu

Friday, October 20, 2023 –Kenya National Union of Teachers KNUT Secretary General Collins Oyuu has been appointed in a government position.

Mr. Oyuu, the Secretary-General of the Kenya National Union of Teachers KNUT, will from today also serve in the Kenya National Qualifications Authority KNQA as a member.

His appointment having been announced through an official Gazette Notice dated Friday October 20 and he will be serving alongside four other individuals.

Their term will be running from the Gazette Notice date to the end of three years period as it is required by law.

The Notice also listed Michael Kuria, Commission for University Education Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Jacqueline Mugo, Federation of Kenya Employers CEO, and Kipkirui Lang’at, TVET Director General.

The team is tasked with enhancement of the quality of national examination standards in the country.

In a weeks time, form four learners will be sitting for their final 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary School Examination KCSE and this panel comes in handy at such a time.

Moreover, the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education KCPE and the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment KPSEA are set to begin on Monday, October 30, and to be conclude on Wednesday, November 1.
