Monday, October 23, 2023 –A public Service Vehicle PSV almost killed hundreds of traders and commuters in Kiambu County after veering off the road in speed.
The white speeding matatu was, on Sunday October 22, captured on CCTV camera as it lost control almost sweeping hundreds of traders in Banana Market, Kiambu.
The footage with us shows the matatu being hit from the rear end before it loses control and plunges into a wall.
Those who were in the vicinity can be seen scampering for their safety as the car wobbles in a speed from one side to another.
The pickup which had hit the matatu can also be seen struggling to take its lane as the logs it had carried remain strewn on the road.
The activities at the busy market would immediately come to a sudden stop as well-wishers rushed to help rescue those trapped inside.
They were seen opening the wrecked car as they ransacked inside to save anything that was remaining.
By the time of going to the press, the police had not yet arrived to issue a comprehensive reliable confirmation as to whether casualties were recorded or not.
