Tuliwa Warn. Kenya is on an autopilot – ODM

Tuesday, November 7, 2023 –Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party has officially reacted to the soaring prices of items in the country.

Moments after Energy Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir announced that prices would be upward to sh 300 per liter, ODM Party leadership now questions the rational to such an increase saying in the neighboring countries, prices were reducing.

“The govt of Tanzania has reduced the price of petroleum products by due to the decrease in the world oil price by an average of 5.58%. This is a good gesture that needs to be emulated by her neighbours especially Kenya,” ODM stated in a statement shared today Tuesday November 7 noon.

In a subsequent statement seen by this desk, the opposition leaders also said they had warned the country against this current government but they were not taken seriously.

“Kenya is on autopilot. Tuliwawuon,” their warning added.

The reaction from the main opposition party coming against the backdrop of increased fuel prices in the country with Cabinet Secretary CS Energy Davis Chirchir warning that, soon the prices could hit sh 300 per liter.

Further, President William Ruto today convened an urgent government meeting to discuss the rising cost of fuel as the country goes up in arms.

Media reported the meeting as a crisis meeting triggered by the cost of living after an alarm by Davis Chirchir that Kenyans should not expect anything better in the next few moths because of the ongoing war between Israel and Palestine.
