Wednesday, November 29, 2023 –A section of United Democratic Movement UDA Party Members of Parliament MPs have boldly come out to regret why they supported William Ruto.
Led by Kapenguria Member of Parliament Samuel Moroto, on Tuesday, the MPs said it was sad that the person they thought would help the country and even put to a stop the area clashes was busy with other things out of the country.
Moroto went ahead to ask God and the people he leads to forgive him for misleading them in the past 2022 general elections.
He was angry over the failure by Ruto administration to intervene and control the clashes that saw about four persons die in a day in what KDF was blamed.
“The lower part of the region, it is the govt that is triggering conflict and not any other government. It is this government. And am also a member of the UDA, and I regret why I chose it, and it may even cost me a place in Heaven, I pray for forgiveness from God,” MP Moroto complained.
He disclosed that, sadly, among those who were butchered is a young student who had just sat his final Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education KCSE.
He wondered how the Kenya Defence Forces KDF can go an extend of shooting un-armed civilians who have always peacefully co-existed in the area.
“They’re using the equipment they have been given to finish off people who are innocent. I as the area MP have tried so much, including with the area elders, and the churches,” the MP said further.
He was speaking this accompanied by other leaders from the region who also condemned the deaths.
In a bid to curb the clashes from escalating, the leaders called on the Cabinet Secretary for Interior and Coordination, Prof Kithure Kindiki, and his Defence Counterpart, Aden Duale, to move with speed and restore peace in the region.
A couple of days ago, Kimilili Member of Parliament MP Didmus Barasa also fired salvos at Ruto’s governmnet saying it was was wrong on the economy.
Both Moroto and Didmus are elected on United Democratic Alliance UDA Party
