Gachagua: We Won’t Make Laws on Wash Wash

Saturday, December 2, 2023 –Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has said that their administration will not be making laws to control wash wash enterprises in the country.

Speaking to the media on Saturday December 2, DP Gachagua said conmen are on loose in the country and what ought to be done is for every Kenyan to be vigilant and careful not be fall prey.

“We cannot make laws on wash wash. People must control themselves and our people must know what is easy and what is not. There has never been easy money anywhere. Everyone should work hard to change their lives,” Gachagua told the media in a clip shared with Kenyawide.com.

He added that only hard work and persistence pays and advised young men and women not to believe that anyone out there can double or triple their cash to wealth.

“Let people not cheat you that they can double your money. If it is true, they can do this, ask yourself why can’t they double their own and live comfortable lives at home?” he posed.

The second in command noted further that, in the current world, short cuts have no future and could take anybody to jail.

“No shortcuts in life because it will not take you anywhere. As leaders in this country, we will keep telling our people this truth all the time,” he argued.

The DP was responding to questions from the media on a number of Kenyan athletes who had come from grace back to grass after misusing their money in wash wash enterprises.

Gachagua was gracing The Great Chepsaita Cross Country Run in Uasin Gishu County which he described as exciting.

Leaders who accompanied him include MPs Abraham Kirwa (Mosop), Silvanus Osoro (South Mugirango), James Gakuya (Embakasi North), Owen Baya (Kilifi North), Didmus Barasa (Kimilili), Dan Wanyama (Webuye West), Joseph Tonui (Kuresoi South) and many others including Members of County Assembly MCAs.
