Cabinet Secretary CS Kipchumba Murkomen addressing

“The president is busy looking for money and investments but some are sleeping. I asked Murkomen two questions about the state of our roads but, instead, he scolds at me calling me a fool,” he stated.

“I asked Murkomen about road maintenance and expansion but the CS did not see the essence of my request,” Cherargei noted.

He wondered how the CS was bringing foreigners in their region to work on roads instead of giving locals such jobs they can do.

“Local contractors can do their work but our youth need their jobs too. It is my only concern,” he added.

He also claimed that Mr. Murkomen has bribed so many politicians in the region to heckle and intimidate him in effort to slow him down.

Cheraragei also said he doesn’t fear death if that is what Murkomen is planning to do to him but said he will maintain his stand as long as his people get the required development.

Last month, on November 22, Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei was kicked out of the Senate after he caused drama while Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen was responding to questions from Senators.

Mr. Cherargei was directed to walk out of the chambers by Senator Abdul Haji who was chairing the session.

Their differences started sometimes last months when Cheragei sought to know why locals contractors had not been given Rift Valley tenders.

Murkomen quickly responded saying he knows what he is doing as a Cabinet secretary and no one can lecture him over his job description.

He went further to state that could Ruto have relied on the likes of Cherargei, today, he would not be the president of the Republic of Kenya.
