Saturday, December 16, 2023 -President William Ruto has warned those attempting to block execution of his tax plan.
Addressing in Kisii County today Saturday December 16, President Ruto said his housing levy will be implemented come what may; adding that he is ready to deal with those who took the matter to court in a bid to block the tax.
“I was handed over the sword and all of you know well that it is not meant to chop vegetables. Its purpose is quite different.
“All those who petitioned the case in court will be dealt with soon,” he assured.
His reaction today believed to have aimed at Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah who is among notable figures opposed to the controversial Finance Act 2023.
The sections in the Act were stopped at both the High Court and the Court of Appeal levels.
The President was speaking this in Kisii during thanksgiving mass held at the Cardinal Otunga Mosocho High School where area governor Simba Arati, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and scores of other leaders were present.
