Christmas at the Corner. How to Spend Money Well

Chrispen

Monday, December 18, 2023 -December holiday is usually a very long festive season that requires more money to fund purchases and services.

Families travel home from towns and, because of that reason alone, the bus fare is always higher – sometimes three or four times higher.
Budgeting is, therefore, quite essential as resources are strained. Shops, clubs, restaurants and supermarkets are always filled to capacity and life is always at its maximum best. It may get you lost into it.
To be safe this season, dont misuse money. Buy only what is essential and relax on excessive expenditure. Avoid using money where there is no urgency.
Secondly, buy items in wholesale so that to save on unit price costs. Buying one item after another is not only time consuming but also expensive. Look one tomato from your local market can sell at sh 15 a piece but when bought in wholesale, a basin full could retail at sh 60 only.
Thirdly, do not try to compete with your neighbour. Trying hard to compete with neighbours is not healthy. This could plunge one into unnecessary expenses that could create huge debts at the end.
Do not overstretch to look better than your friends and neighbours. It is economically wrong.
Last but not least, spend your earnings on Christmas but always know the importance of saving money for family health and education.
