Saturday, January 27, 2024 –Bodyguards had to whisk away Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris after she showed up late in their anti-femicide protests.
In a video shared widely by a section of social media users, MP Passaris can be seen arriving for the protest exercise while surrounded by bodyguards but, instead of inviting her, the protesters would be heard shouting her down.
They sought to understand where she was all along when women were being murdered around the city.
“Where were you, where were you, where were you,” they shouted at her.
The Nairobi residents held the march against gender-based-violence after about three women were killed in a span of only weeks.
