Saturday, January 27, 2024 –Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro has responded to President William Ruto on Rigathi Gachagua fights.
The lawmaker finally addressed his rivalry with the deputy President Mr. Gachagua on who will be Ruto’s 2027 running mate.
Speaking in Tana River County on Friday, Ndindi Nyoro said he still believes in Gachagua as the most senior leader from their region.
Nyoro maintained that he trusts in the leadership of both Ruto and Gachagua and will support them in achieving their legacy.
“When the two are in front, all of us including me, are the foot soldiers for our leaders. Our work is to support them. We are committed because we have a vision and a plan to take the country’s economy forward. After all, if Kenya succeeds, everyone else succeeds and that is why we support our leaders,” he said.
The vocal MP also referred to him as a very good friend.
However, the MP did not reveal whether he was interested in the Kenya Kwanza running mate position in 2027.
The Kiharu MP was fronted as Gachagua’s replacement by leaders from Murang’a County who accused the DP of divisive politics in Mt. Kenya.
On his part, Gachagua condemned them for disrespecting the President and the top KK Leadership.
“The people do not want to hear about elections. They do not want to hear who will be elected where. They want service delivery, electricity, water and other forms of development,” the DP hit back in Bomet County.
Meanwhile, Ruto also urged leaders in his camp to desist from early succession politics, urging them to unite and help him accomplish his mission of stabilizing the country.
