Thursday, January 1, 2024 -Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba lectured Football Kenya Federation President Nick Mwandwa during a meeting held in Nairobi on Thursday February 1.

In a 4-minute long video shared with Kenyawide.com news desk on Thursday noon, CS Namwamba can be seen addressing the sports delegates led by Nick Mwendwa and, in his address, he narrows down his blows to one person.
FKF President Nick Mwendwa suspended.

“If it takes your discipline to streamline sports sector in the country, we will have to sacrifice you and save our sports.

“It is better we get you banned for even three years as long as we can sanitise sports in Kenya,” Namwamba charged as delegates maintained laud silence.
He singled out incidences the federation had attempted to threaten the State of consequences if anyone touches FKF officials.
“Any time we try to question things, you come out bodily threatening that FiFA will come for us.
“Let me bring this to your attention, me in particular, do speak a lot with the FIFA officials. We share a lot and, in fact, I do chat with them more than you,” he went on.

In the meeting was Mr  Nick Mwendwa who appeared uncomfortable with the remarks and looked out of place as the Sports CS minced no word on his (Mwendwa’s) leadership style.

Before Kenya Kwanza came to power, Mwendwa had been banned by the then Sports CS Amina Mohammed over corruption and gross misconduct.
