Friday, February 23, 2024 –Court has ordered Kenyan rapper Inyatta Nyamari Ongegu popularly known by stage name ‘Nyashinski’ to produce royalty reports in dispute over copyright infringement.
This is after Nigerian producer Sam Eliapenda Jedidah claimed that the Hayawani composer sampled his hit song ‘Wach Wach’ to endorse the Tecno Camon 20 device released in the Kenyan market, last year.
In that view, the complainant is demanding 50% of earnings from the deal.
Pre-trial hearing has been set for March 12, this year 2024.
