Wednesday, January 20, 2021 -Homa Bay County is headed for a political nightmare after three big players recently showed interest in the governor’s seat.
Just weeks after the former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero made clear his intentions to vie to for the top Homa Bay seat through his weekly tours, area Woman Representative Gladys Wanga has also announced that she will be in the race come what may.
During a women empowerment program held on Saturday January 16 at Riat Village in Ndiwa, Wanga dismissed reports that she will be quitting the race to pave way for someone else.
The woman politician maintained that she will not defend her current position as it is being propagated by her opponents who want to win her supporters behind her back.
She was saying this at the backdrop of increased rumours that she was changing her mind over thematter due to the number of interested men in the seat and especially in their ODM Party.
Wanga further observed that area elders had endorsed her candidature as the best and there will be no turning back on this.
Now with her confirmation, this brings to a total of three strong aspirants who are interested in the seat among them Mr. Evans Kidero and Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party Chairman John Mbadi.
It will therefore be interesting to see how their party leader Raila Odinga will juggle or gamble with this events ahead of 2022 general elections
