Sunday, March 17, 2024 -Government has reacted to reports that it is considering banning lawmakers from debating Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna.
Lawyer Sifuna, who has been key in making appearances on Tv shows to tackle national issues, has been touted as the most competent legislator in the country.
And, at the heart of the problem is the notion that he (Sifuna) often appears more intellectual when pitted against UDA politicians on live tv debates.
“To avoid further embarrassing episodes, the party is now pulling the plug on the appearance of its members alongside Senator Sifuna in any show regardless of the media house hosting it,” read part of the release signed by ruling party Secretary General Cleophas Malalah who has however delinked himself from the statement.
According to the controversial release, the politicians were urged to first confirm with the media houses if Sifuna was part of any show they were invited to before showing up.
