Friday, January 22, 2021 -Deputy President William Ruto is a schemer and not just a schemer of any other game but Kenya’s politics.
Given any loophole, the son from Surgoi will leave anyone nursing lifetime regrets no wonder President Uhuru Kenyatta is currently struggling to fix things though too late.
Ruto, like a hunter with one arrow, started planning a head of time immediately they took over power in 2013. Uhuru by that time was sitting pretty comfortable because he had found the power he wanted. He therefore became too careless and relaxed to a level of forgetting that a day will come when he will want his Mt. Kenya Region back. He didn’t know Ruto’s main aim was to grab it away.
Ruto being not only crafty but also an aggressive politician who leaves no chances anytime an opportunity presents itself, made sure he created a ‘secret world’ within their Jubilee Party. Uhuru and his cronies didn’t notice this. They couldn’t because they thought they had scored. They were wrong anyway.
So astute Ruto created a youthful ‘secrete world’ within their ruling party and this was made a success during their party nominations. He reportedly pushed hard for a youthful brand of leadership made up of the likes of Ndindi Nyoro(Kiharu), Moses Kuria(Gatundu), Kimani Ichung’wah(Kikuyu) among others with sole agenda being to counter the old class. This, Uhuru and his team never noticed until just the other day when Ruto was all over the place. Any attempts to stop him through stopping early campaigns in the country never moved William Ruto even an inch. He remained firm to his course. He kept pushing and going out almost every day. Remember what doesn’t kill a dude only makes him stronger.
Essentially, what the DP wanted was to have another force within their Jubilee Party which he would ‘radicalize’ using his resources for his 2022 goals. This, he managed quiet well and the results are there for everyone to see.
Now as Uhuru keeps struggling to recapture his region back, Ruto is already a household name in Mt. Kenya and need no one to sell his agenda around the region. That is why you can see the likes of Irungu Kang’ata falling in his(Ruto) trap because the ground is not only slippery but also too hostile for anything else as of now.
Anyway that said, there is still hope for within every problem lies an opportunity.
