Friday, May 10, 2024 –President William Ruto has, for the first time, revealed his first job after completing his high school education.

Speaking to ICT graduates in Kiambu County on Friday May 10, President Ruto told the tech staff that it was important for them to utilize any slight chance they have to learn and advance their knowledge if they wanted to change their lives.

The head of State added that jobs do not come easily and that, for any young graduate to realise his full potential in anything, there will be need for everyone to work towards achieving this.

He clarified that his administration, just like any other in the world, will only provide an enabling environment for people to create and employ others.

“I know what it means to not have a job. Actually, my first job after school was when I ran for Member of Parliament. I had no job until I decided to run for MP seat,” he shared his past amid laughter.

Present when he was addressing joblessness in the country was ICT Cabinet Secretary CS Eliud Owalo, Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatang’i and scores of other leaders from Mt. Kenya Region especially Kiambu County.

“Our deliberate investments and incentives continue to attract investors in the digital space, expanding opportunities for our youth. To accelerate the growth of the Business Process Outsourcing and IT-enabled services sector, we are implementing strategic measures to enhance our competitive edge and align with global standards,” noted Dr. Ruto.

The commander-in-chief launched Call Centre International (CCI) Global Contact Centre at Tatu City in Kiambu County that has already created over 5,000 jobs.
