Saturday, May 11, 2024 –A 19-year-old university girl has been found dead days after she was abducted by unknown men.
Reports reaching Kenyawide.com news desk confirmed that Thika-based police officers are looking into her gruesome death in the hands of kidnappers who had asked for ransom.
The university student, Faith Musembi, who was found murdered in Pilot Estate in Thika, Kiambu County had seen her parents struggle to part with a deposit of sh 27,000 which her abductors had asked for.
The student’s lifeless body would later be found by her father Boniface Musembi who rushed to her house after receiving calls from men demanding the cash.
This saw the late Faith’s family cede to the attacker’s demands and sent them sh 27,000 to secure daughter’s freedom.
Sadly, the group still did not release their daughter but sought another sh 33,000 extra which the family didn’t have at the time.
On reporting the case to Thika Police Station, the family revealed that the police did not move with speed to help them.
“They (police officers) informed me that it could be a trick played by my daughter’s friends…,” Boniface shared.
The family, still under the distress situation, moved to her school to report the matter to the administration.
And on visiting her daughter’s house situated at Pilot Estate, the dad stumbled on the lifeless body lying on the cold floor.
This is after he sought assistance to break into the room.
