Kenya’s National Taekwondo side flies to Morocco for trainings

Friday, January 23, 2021 -Kenya Taekwondo team has flown to Morocco for training sessions. President of Kenya Taekwondo Federation ( KTF) Suleiman Sumba has confirmed.

In a telephone interview with this desk, President Sumba who also doubles up as the Vice President World Taekwondo Africa Federation ( WTAF) detailed that he had organized a training camp for the National Olympic team to train alongside other international teams that include Italy and Morocco. Kenya will be represented by six athletes 3 male and 3 female at the high level training camp. The phase 1 of the training will be in March 2021 and Phase 2 will be in June 2021 before one athlete MS Faith Ogalo who has qualified for the Olympic proceeds to Tokyo Japan.

He added that through his influence and networks, he had managed on behalf of the Kenya’s side, to secure a Memorandum of Understanding MOU.

“The MOU and partnership is between the Royal Morocco Taekwondo Federation, the Kenya Taekwondo Federation and The Royal Morocco high performance Olympic Training Camp,” said Sumba.

The document was signed by Mr IDDris Elhilal who is the President of The Royal of Morocco Taekwondo Federation and Mr Hassan the Director General of the high performance Olympic Training Camp in a meeting that was held at the Director General Morocco Olympic Training Center.
