Making this known in a church service held today Sunday June 2 in Bungoma County where he spent his night after presiding over the 16th National Madaraka Day celebrations, Dr. Ruto said he is after making the country economically stable.
“After here, I will be flying out tonight to South Korea. I am not going for fun or as a tourist. I am going to work. I was in America a week ago and some people said a lot about my State visit,” he told Bungoma residents in church.
In South Korea, the president will attend the Korea-Africa Summit together with 48 other heads of States, among them his host President Yoon Suk Yeol.
He will also use this tour to sign a bilateral agreement and receive funding for major projects as earlier agreed between the two nations.
“I was there and agreed with the President that we want to have a collaboration of our university in Athi River and one in South Korea and they have given us sh 40 billion for young people in the creative economy. I will be going to receive those funds,” he stated.
Ruto added that, just like America, South Korea will help the creative industry in Kenya to reach the heights needed for many youths who have ventured into the lucrative creative space.
In the U.S.A a week ago, President Ruto toured the Tyler Perry Studios where he interacted with creatives from both Kenya and America.
“The Tyler Perry Studios tour was an inspiration to put more effort and resources in the creative sector of our economy. I am Encouraged by the huge potential for collaboration and partnership with such institutions that could help our young talent to monetise their creativity,” said President Ruto shortly after the historic tour.
