Sunday, June 16, 2024 –Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has reminded Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua about the day he allegedly celebrated his(Kuria’s) wanting relationship with President Ruto.
CS Kuria, through a brief cryptic video clip, has reminded Gachagua about the day he made a statement against him after he arrived late in a State function.
On Saturday, June 15, the CS trolled the second in command for showing signs of fallout with the boss William Ruto.
Kuria has shared the August 2023 video clip in which Gachagua is firmly lecturing him on how to work with Ruto within timeframes.
CS Kuria had just arrived late in a Statehouse performance contract signing function that both Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua has arrived earlier and sat down.
In the clip shared, Kuria is also talking about an imminent impeachment awaiting the DP due to his behavior in government.
“Mungu nifunze kunyamaza (God teach me to shut my mouth),” Kuria contrasted his own experience with Gachagua’ now situation.
While CS Kuria did not exactly say when and who is behind the DP’s removal, he however, points out that Ruto and Gachagua are not in good working terms.
At some point early this year, Kuria had accused Gachagua of plotting his removal from office. This is after Ruto had moved him from the lucrative Trade docket to a less appealing Public Service ministry.
Now, the CS has appeared close to the president while the DP has openly criticised the position taken by President William Ruto as well as his close handlers.
Gachagua accuses a clique of persons around Ruto for choreographing his predicaments and fallout with the government he also serves in.
Ichungwah being one of them, has been on record asking the deputy president to stop preaching only about his community and, instead, shift to serving all Kenyans equally.
“The largest problem in Kenya is tribalism. There are some people who never go beyond their village and he wants to be a leader,” he made the observation towards the Deputy President.
CS Kuria has promised to organise and hold a football tournament in Kiambu County where he would invite President Ruto, former President Uhuru Kenyatta and Azimio Leader Raila Odinga among other leaders.
Interestingly, Gachagua’s name was conspicuously missing from the list of politicians to be invited to grace the event.
