Monday, June 17, 2024 –President William Ruto is back in the country and was seen disembarking from the Kenya Airways flight on Monday June 17 morning.

Ruto was in Italy since June 15 for a series of peace-building meetings with other world leaders amid the Russia aggression in Ukraine.

Dr. Ruto had, in a statement, called out Vladmir Putni over the attacks launched against Ukraine and asked the parties to consider truce.

“Russia’s aggression against Ukraine is unlawful, unjust and a violation of the fundamental principles of international law. As we embark on the collective effort to resolve the conflict in Ukraine,” Ruto stated.

“It is time for parties to the war to demonstrate good faith, abandon intransigent attitudes and soften their positions for lasting peace to be realised. Joined other world leaders for the Summit on Peace in Ukraine, Bürgenstock, Switzerland,” the head of State added.

The commander-in-chief and a section of his Cabinet team attended the Summit on Peace in Ukraine held in Bürgenstock Switzerland.
