Wednesday, January 27, 2021 -Isaac Ruto has come out to clarify his relationship with Deputy President William Ruto despite having recently entered into a coalition pact with Uhuru’s Jubilee.

The former Bomet Governor who switched to Tangatanga on Friday January 15th in an event that saw him gifted a wheelbarrow, has said his decision was well thought out before making the move.

In an interview with The Daily Nation, he explained that his coalition agreement with Jubilee Party which is led by President Uhuru Kenyatta still holds because the government has to be respected and given time to deliver.

“The alliance with Jubilee is still concrete. Politicians we are working with are in government and we must give them ample time to work.

“Kenyatta has to deliver on his mandate and we agreed on that as CCM. Parties should not be a cause of division among leaders and citizens,” Isaac stated.

On supporting DP Ruto, he mentioned that this was purely informed by the fact that the DP’s ideologies are in tandem with his Chama Cha Mashinai CCM Party slogan.

He added that DP Ruto’s leadership style had resonated well with many Kenyans hence his support to him should not be misinterpreted.

“Do not be surprised when Kenyatta works with Ruto later on. The President, however, has to tell us what happened between them as he used to rate William highly,” he said.

And weighing on the BBI issue, he said he will only be convinced to support it if it will not be about creating positions in 2022.

This development now puts to test his loyalty.  However, politicians are known to change at the slightest threat to power. Their conscience coming in a distant third. He may therefore be playing politics to win back his Bomet seat.
