Wednesday, January 27, 2021 -Kirinyaga County Assembly is yet to pass the Building Bridges Initiative Bill 2020 legally referred to as the Constitutional Amendment Bill 2020.
Reports have been out in the media that the Assembly was the first to table, deliberate and pass the Bill but Speaker Anthony Waweru has on Wednesday evening refuted that there has not been something like that within his area.
He added that all the area county assembly members MCAs are still out on a recess and will be reporting back on duty as from February 8th when they will officially kick start plenary sittings.
“The County Assembly of Kirinyaga has not considered the Constitutional amendment Bill 2020 (BBI),” he said.
He urged members of the public not to take seriuos propaganda being peddled by politicians who have hidden interests in the whole Constitutional matter.
He however clarified that, just like every assembly will have to independently pass of shoot down the Bill so is Kirinyaga County.
