Sunday, September 22, 2024 –Leaders allied to the ruling party have come out hinting at Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s impeachment.

Speaking in his backyard on Saturday, Barasa who is elected on UDA Party ticket, assured that Gachagua can nolonger remain in office because he is disrespecting the head of State.
“We have decided to fight tribalism. Before this year ends, Gachagua, like it or not, will celebrate his Christmas as a common man.
“He recently claimed that MPs had been bought, we have not been bought by anyone. We are emulating Gen Zs clamor for change,” Barasa reiterated.
The MP added that Gachagua has been going around his Mt. Kenya Region preaching divisive politics so that to get unnecessary sympathy.
He noted that, recently in a Karatina meeting, the DP demeaned both Speaker Moses Wetang’ula and Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi whom he said did not contribute much votes to the current government and, therefore, are not supposed to be serving in the positions given to them by the president.
“He arranged a meeting in Karatina where he attacked our community. He demeaned Speaker Wetang’ula and Mudavadi that they are not fit to be in the positions they are in today because of the insignificant votes they produced from their region,” MP Barasa remarked.
Addressing the same issue from another meeting, Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja also hinted at Gachagua’s ouster saying he will be send home not unless he works around to flip the plan.
He urged the DP to focus on addressing his challenges with his boss William Ruto rather than poking his nose in Nairobi County matters.
The Nairobi boss also took issue with Gachagua for demeaning President William Ruto by revealing any secret discussions they hold in the Statehouse.

“Experience is vital. You can’t go on live Tv and tell everything you were told by your boss. You can’t go out and expose what the president told you and still think you are right”.
Sakaja’s response also coming just days after the DP held rallies with various groups within the city in which he accused the governor of not serving the interest of Kikuyus.
