Tuesday, September 24, 2024 –A good resume can easily secure you a lucrative job in any organization long before an interview is conducted.
While writing a job resume, cover letter etc, it is very key to use highly formal tone to make your employer be happy and attracted to you. Your choice of tone and words matters quite a lot and can inform a final dicission as to whether you deserve consideration or not.
And because there is a lot of competition in the job market, you will need to tailor your application letter to match your specific job. Avoid being vague because it can show how you are not sure. Make it a customised resume in a manner that would persuade anyone to pick on you.
Help your potential employer or employers to understand who you are and what you have done before. Make their work easier. This may put you far higher in grades than the rest.
And when time for interviews come, utilise the one-on-one moment to make your presentation look exactly like the CV you presented. It must be the same thing. What you say and what is in the papers you presented must always concur.
Your verbal and physical presentation can also make or break your day. The two elements count a percentage in the overall interview score. So, be very careful.
And lastly, always remember to say thank you after the interview is complete. You never know if the two words alone were your only ‘saviour-in-waiting’. One or two people in the interviewing panel may notice that small difference and pick on you. Maybe, no other candidate thought about how valuable a mere ‘Thank You’ can be. But it plays a role just like a comma has always saved life!
