DP Gachagua to be Ejected From the Party

Chrispen

Friday, September 27, 2024 –United Democratic Alliance UDA Party Secretary General Hassan Omar has announced ejection of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua from the party leadership.

Addressing on Saturday at the party headquarters in Nairobi, Hassan indicated that, once the DP is impeached, UDA Party will have nothing to do with him again because tolerating him will mean accepting to work with someone who has undermined the law, his boss and the Constitution.

According to Omar, a majority of the UDA Party Members of Parliament MPs are said to have signed the impeachment motion supporting the removal of the DP. This, he said, means they have no confidence in his leadership and, therefore, he ought to be barred from carrying on with party business.

“I am reliably informed that many of UDA MPs have appended signatures supporting that motion of impeachment and we will go with the majority members supporting his removal. And the party will have to support the same.

“I would find sufficient ground in following up what he is being accused of. You cannot go round inciting the country and preaching wrong gospel of tribalism and ethnicity.

“Our bottom Up economic agenda was to uplift the masses of the country and avoid the culture of exclusion. He has malice, exclusion, hatred and I think this is not right,” Omar added.

Kitutu Chache North MP also National Treasury UDA, Mr. Japhet Nyakundi, said UDA was built on Bottom Up agenda and anyone taking a different route must be punished.

“Impeachment of our DP – the motion – is yet to be brought to the floor of the House and when it comes and the grounds are sufficient, we will have to impeach him”.

Nyakundi described Gachagua as a very tribal leader who doesn’t want to engage with other people from other areas of the country.

However, in Kiambu County today where he staged a series of rallies, Gachagua continued faulting his boss for allowing MPs to plot his removal.

He firmly stated that he rose to office after he was voted in by Kenyans. He openly told his boss that, he(Gachagua) was not appointed by anybody.
