Chrispen

Wednesday, October 9, 2024 –Embattled Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has broken his silence a day after his impeachment was conducted in Parliament by more than 280 MPs.

On Wednesday October 9, the DP took to the pages of his socials with spiritual quotes from the book of Thessalonians and Jeremiah, respectively.

From the former, the embattled deputy to the president indicated his desire to remain thankful in Jesus Christ.

Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot speaking

“1 Thessalonians 5:18 “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus,” read the quotation.

He went ahead to quote Jeremiah in which the verse speaks about thanksgiving, rejoicing and multiplication of luck for those who remain steadfast in Christ.

“Jeremiah 30:19 “From them will come songs of thanksgiving and the sound of rejoicing. I will add to their numbers, and they will not be decreased; I will bring them honor, and they will not be disdained.” It is well”.

Meanwhile, the exercise to send home the DP continues as the Senate now gearing up to take over the matter from the National Assembly.

Today in the chambers, Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna who had been proposed by Kericho Senator to second the motion for a committee to probe Gachagua’s conduct, stood and declined the offer.

“Thank you hon speaker. This is a matter extremely unique and elicited immense public attention and therefore given the mood of the house and especially on the minority side, I respectively decline to second that motion,” he responded.
