Tuesday, October 22, 2024 –Dorcas is a 47-year-old Ugandan woman who had given up being called a mother because she had moved from one man to another looking for a child but thing couldn’t work.
She actually reached a point where she had made peace with the fact that motherhood wasn’t for her or for everyone in marriage.
“It reached a level I had made peace with the idea that motherhood wasn’t in my future,” she recalls. “The heartbreak of every failed attempt was too much to bear. I stopped hoping.”

She beams as she cradles her sons, the sound of their laughter filling her once-quiet home.
“At 47, I finally became a mother. I want my story to inspire others who are on the same journey. There’s always a second chance of hope, and sometimes, the answers come from places we least expect.”
