Sunday, October 27, 2024 –Business woman Millicent Omanga has rejected a job offer from his party boss President William Ruto who appointed her yesterday Saturday October 26.
Omanga had been appointed alongside Bishop Margaret Wanjiru to the Nairobi River membership board in which role they were to help in cleaning and revamping the water source.
But shortly after her appointment, she took to her X with a statement thanking the head of State for the consideration which she respectfully declined citing personal reasons.
“Am deeply honored and grateful to H.E William Ruto for the trust you’ve shown in appointing me to serve on the Nairobi Rivers Commission. It’s truly a privilege to be considered for such a vital role in improving our beloved Nairobi’s environment and public health.
“After careful consideration, I must respectfully decline the appointment due to personal reasons. I remain committed to supporting efforts aimed at restoring Nairobi’s rivers & stand ready to contribute in any capacity that aligns with my current commitments. Thank you once again for this honor and for the consideration,” she declined the appointment.
The politician would also tweet a cryptic post insinuating that she had been betrayed by a person whom she had toiled for a long time.
“Then I considered all that my hands had done and the toil I had expended in doing it, and behold, all was vanity and a striving after wind, and there was nothing to be gained under the sun,” Omanga added.
Omanga ran for Nairobi County Woman Representative position on the ruling United Democratic Alliance Party UDA but she was beaten by ODM candidate Esther Pasarris.
Following the failed bid, she would be among those Ruto shortlisted for the controversial Cabinet Administrative Secretary post before youth protests erupted around the country to scatter the plans that the courts had also made its pronouncements on.
