Labour and Social Protection Cabinet Secretary Dr. Alfred Mutua faced heavy backlash during the National Job Recruitment Program event held at Rift Valley National Polytechnic in Nakuru County.

This happened on Monday when he was shouted down by frustrated youths who claimed they were misled into believing the program offered free opportunities to work abroad.

The attendees, drawn by promises of free employment in countries such as Australia, Qatar and Germany expressed outrage upon learning they would be required to pay for travel-related costs, including transport, medical examinations and other facilitation fees.

Those captured lodging complaints to the media shared that they are required to part with some fee which is a substantial amount of money for them to secure chances.

One of them said he was told to sign for a bank loan for him to secure a sh 40,000 driving job in Qatar.
