Mining Cabinet Secretary Ali Hassan Joho has continued with his rant and threats on those using social media to attack the government.

Speaking during the groundbreaking ceremony of the Devki Iron Ore Pelletisation Plant in Taita Taveta County on Tuesday, December 3, the Mining and Blue Economy CS admitted receiving several calls and texts from disgruntled Kenyans who wanted to know from him why he is fighting social media.

“Yesterday they came to me at night, they said they wanted to punish me and sent me Ksh1 each but I want to tell them that they should do the same today and even send me more money.

“This is the only country where someone takes to social media to negatively comment about their leaders and use negative images to predict their fate,” he added.

In his account on the effects of Kenyan social media comments to the world, Joho said, out there, foreign leaders are questioning the happenings in Kenya and whether this government is doing the right thing.

“People are saying Kenya is going down, but let me tell you, Kenya is not sinking, and I want to tell you, we are on the ground, you keep on commenting on social media,” Joho stated.

In a clear expression of outrage, CS Joho urged Kenyans to exercise restraint and patriotism towards both their country and leaders so that the world can see the positive side of Kenya, too.

“How can a Kenyan who does not know anything post on social media that Raila Odinga must fall? Talking about AU. How unpatriotic can you be as Kenyans that even one of your own who has a chance to lead you’re saying they must fall? We will come for you, my friend,” he ranted.

Joho was commenting on the idea by sections of Kenyans to push for a Raila loss in the upcoming African Union Commission AUC race.

Sections of young men and women believe that Mr. Odinga was wrong joining government of William Ruto at the height of Gen Z protests.
