President William Ruto has today joined Government officials who are against social media criticism against government projects.
Speaking during the opening of Devki Iron Ore Pelletisation Plant on December 2 in Taita Taveta, the president said their is an issue with those making negative criticism on anything the State wants to implement.
According to Ruto, those attacking the government, particularly on social media, lacked alternative ideas and that the face-lifting of the Kenyan airports will go on despite the recent cancellation of Adani deal.
“Recently, I saw other people glorify those who stopped the construction of the airport as heroes, what heroes? The airport is in a tent. Other countries are building their airports yet ours is not built. What gain do you get when you stop the building of an airport in your country and you lack alternative ideas and you have no clue how it will be built,” he added.
On why he brought Adani into the country, the head of State clarified that the plans were positive and that the aim was to build this country a state-of-the-art airport.
He, therefore, stated that all is not lost and that his administration will go on with the exercise through other able contractors.
Ruto, during the State of the Nation address in Parliament on November 21, directed the Ministries of Transport and Energy to immediately cancel all engagements with Adani International citing lack of transparency in the whole procurement process.
