Flashy Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka is on the spot again following his complete display of opulence in office.
Since returning to office two years ago, Lusaka has been riding in expensive fuel guzzlers sandwiched between lead cars and sirens.
Looking at his current motorcade, one would confuse this with an official presidential motorcade heading for Madaraka Day celebrations at Kasarani Stadium.
Governor Lusaka has previously been accused of corruption, such as procuring wheelbarrows valued at Ksh 3,000 for Ksh 109,000 during his first term. Residents have also expressed frustration over reports of public funds being misused on flowers among other non-essentials.
Reports indicate that Ksh 25 million was spent on flowers, Ksh 402 million on travel in the 2023/2024 financial year, Ksh 696 million allocated to travel in the 2022/2023 financial year, and Ksh 320 million on garbage collection.
All these happening at the same time the county grapples with major challenges.
