The Nairobi City Governor Johnson Sakaja has, of recent, never left Raila Odinga to breath. The governor is always with the Azimio boss anywhere he goes.
The main reason may be your guess just like it is mine but, obviously, Sakaja’s under performance and which triggered a huge city outcry saw him think quickly to endear himself to Raila who also has a majority of members in the Nairobi City County.
Sakaja’s life looked shorter even more when he ran into problems with the impeached Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua who had marked him as a wanted man. And if Sakaja had contnued avoiding Raila, believe me, by today, he could have been impeached just like Gachagua was removed.
His closeness to Raila has shielded him from any attacks from the ODM supporters and leaders who had already described him as a failure. But once Raila embraces you, you become immune and that is what Sakaja knew very well.
Johnson Sakaja, though, was elected on the United Democratic Alliance UDA Party ticket, he can only survive if ODM Party boss Raila Odinga shield’s him.
The city CEO has, however, under-performed and Nairobi looks like it is taking a toll on him.
