Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has defended her Ksh 4 million tea allowances saying it is because her staff are working late and waking up early.
Addressing the matter a day after appearing before the Parliamentary Committee , she argued that the Ksh 4M used by her staff on tea is for the entire year while they are collecting billions for her county government.
“We only pay them Ksh 15K per person and they have to collect Ksh 700M. These people have to be at the market early and leave late at 10PM. I have no apology to use that amount.
“If we can spend Ksh 4M to get Ksh 400M, that is a fair mathematics”.
