Friday, February 19, 2021 -President Uhuru Kenyatta has reportedly dared anyone who is still aligned to his deputy William Ruto to vacate State office.
In his tension-packed closed door meeting held on Thursday February 19, Mr. Kenyatta, according to insiders, scolded his juniors asking them to quit if they are not satisfied with how he is running the country.
Uhuru was meeting Cabinet Secretaries, Permanent Secretaries, CASs and other executive members where he read them a riot act.
Ruto was however conspicuously missing in the meeting that was attended by Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i who sat close to the President and carried out duties meant for the DP.
“He said he was only keen to work with a strong united team and warned those with their loyalties elsewhere that they were free to leave and he would readily replace them. He said it is either you are with him or not,” an insiders claimed.
Though Ruto was missing, his communication team led by Emmanuel Talam would note that he was not invited and therefore he cannot be blamed.
Those privy to what is happening at Statehouse have further intimated that Mr. Kenyatta could soon make a major final reshuffle to get rid of any William Ruto ally in his administration who are now unwanted and viewed as rebels and moles.
“There is anxiety among my colleagues. No one knows their fate. Even those who were reshuffled do not understand why they were moved; whether it is related to politics or non-performance,” a CS told a local daily.
On Wednesday February 17, for instance, there were a few minor reshuffles that touched on CAS and PSs. Kenyatta also appointed new CASs to his government.
It is now clear that before 2022 there will be no more DP Ruto sympathizer in the current governmnet.
