Friday, February 19, 2021 -Former Nairobi City Assembly Speaker Beatrice Elachi is back in government following Friday appointments by the president.
Elachi was among the nine lucky Kenyans who made it to Uhuru Kenyatta’s new list of executive appointments today.
Uhuru seized their swearing in ceremony to urge those who got appointed to prioritize development as part of key agenda in Jubilee Administration.
He said despite Jubilee reaching its sunset period, there was urgent need to deliver on that which was promised to Kenyans and that makes the main reason he had to make changes in his government.
“We have a big task ahead of us, a task of completing programmes and projects that we have already embarked on. I look forward to your contribution in fast-tracking them,” the head of State stated.
Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua conducted the ceremony that saw other CASs Eric Wafuko(National Treasury), Jackson Musyoka(Labour and Social Protection), Lawrence Angolo Omuhaka(Agricuture, Livestock, Fisheries and Co-operatives) among others take oath.
In her speech, Elachi who unceremoniously resigned from her previous job due to pressure from ex-Governor Mike Sonko, thanked the president for showing faith in her again.
She will be serving in the capacity of Chief Administrative Secretary in the Public Service and Gender Affairs Ministry.
