Wetang’ula, Musalia’s Relationship Bears Fruit as Their candidates win

Friday, March 5, 2021 -Ford Kenya and ANC relationship finally bears fruit as their candidates carry the day in their respective by-elections.

In Kabuchai Constituency for instance, Ford Kenya’s Majimbo Kalasinga garnered 19,274 votes which represented 65 percent of the total cast votes.

He was trailed closely by Evans Kakai of the United Democratic Alliance UDA Party who got 6,455 votes representing only 22 percent.

The results were made official by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission IEBC Returning officer for Kabuchai Mr. Benson Esuza stationed at Mabanga Agricultural Training Center MATC.

“Congratulations Ford Kenya Party candidate & MP elect @Honmajimbo, on your overwhelming victory in the recently concluded Kabuchai By-election. We are proud of you!” Musalia thanked the Ford Kenya candidate.

Majimbo is now the second MP this term alone after MP James Lusweti died from Arthritis in December last year.

And even as Wetang’ula’s Ford Kenya was trouncing in Kabuchai, afew miles away in Matungu Kakamega, Musalia Mudavadi’s ANC Party was doing well although with a narrow escape from ODM’s well-oiled machinery.

Peter Nabulindo took late lead after struggling all through the night until he finally emerged the MP-elect.

Mudavadi can now have a sigh of relief for retaining his Matungu seat despite the tight contest that created anxiety among his supporters same to ODM’s.

The two victories of Nabulindo and Majimbo highlights the importance of close working relationship between Ford Kenya and ANC as far as ODM’s presence in Western Kenya is concerned.

Raila Odinga’s candidate in Matungu Mr. David Were did not disappoint either as he took close second position. They however did not field a candidate in Kabuchai.
