Rare moments as Uhuru bumps into Chamwada at Michuki Park[Video]

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday evening bumped into renowned Kenyan city Journalist Alex Chamwada of Chams Media who at the rehabilitated Michuki Park, Nairobi.

Uhuru who was accompanied by Major Mohammed Badi among other state officials arrived at the Park for inspection reasons only to find Chamwada with his boys on set filming their programme which is always aired weekly.

The two had a casual talk and seemed to embrace each other, and more interestingly, Kenyatta happened to identify him by name throughout their conversation.

He could oftenly be heard calling him by name “Chamwada” all through their conversation as the people around the president watched in surprise.

Homenews.co.ke found this video on Chamwada Youtube channel in which the journalist is narrating how they had earlier met in the week when the head of State was on inspection tour but they agreed to publish the story when the park is officially launched on Friday August 15th.

“It is very rare to have a casual, unplanned conversation with a head of State in an unlikely place. Recently when my cameraman, Eric Mwema Maweu and I were filming here at the Michuki Park, President Uhuru Kenyatta walked in unexpectedly,” Chamwada begun.

“On noticing me, the president acknowledged my contribution in content creation in development matters then we started strolling together around the park,” he continued.

Uhuru and Chamwada seemed to agree to the fact with General Badi, the city was under control and in good hands.

The head of State asked Nairobi Metropolitan Services NMS boss Mohammed Badi to work with the youths in planting trees and all rehabilitation jobs around the city as part of their efforts to not only free the city from garbage but also support the jobless youths economically.

In their friendly conversation, Uhuru mentioned that apart from Michuki Park, his government will be working on rehabilitating other green spaces around the city so as to reclaim the city’s lost glory and among them would be the famous Nairobi Aboretum, Karura Forest, City Park and Ngong Road Forest etc.

The Michuki Park was finally commissioned on Friday August 14^th by Mr. Kenyatta. Also in the company was the embattled Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko who recently was on record promising to give the Badi led NMS his full support to allow them carry on their functions as agreed in the partnership deed signed recently between the two.

Sonko in their recent mediation meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta further pledged to withdraw all court cases he had filed against the newly formed city metropolitan body. Video/Courtesy-
