Jubilee Plans to Impeach Ruto After Suffering BBI Loss

Saturday, May 8, 2021 -Calls for an impeachment motion against Deputy President William Ruto have now intensified after suffering BBI loss on Thursday May 6.

That unless Deputy President will respect his boss Uhuru Kenyatta and toe the line, he risks being shown the door and in his place given to someone else.

Speaking in a press conference last Friday May 7, Majority Leader in Parliament Amos Kimunya who is also the Kipipiri legislator hinted at a possibility of preparing a motion that will eventually see the second in command suffer an ouster for his rebellious behavior.

According to Mr. Kimunya, it is now open that Uhuru has strength in both Houses and Ruto has nothing her can do to counter anything staged against him. For instance, 235 MPs supported and voted for BBI Bill among them a handful of DP William Ruto allies.

“We hope their leader has seen the light and will stop defying the President. If he continues with his defiance, these numbers give us confidence and we could escalate things to the next step (impeachment) we have the numbers,” Kimunya cautioned.

He added that with only 233 votes, Ruto’s goose will be as good as cooked just like they did with BBI.

Speaking on  the same issue in another forum, ODM Minority Chief Whip Junet Mohamed observed that Ruto’s massive following in rallies are always paid for and therefore shortlived.

“These numbers can lead to other things. They can make somebody lose his job as provided for in the constitution. However, we are focusing on peace building and wouldn’t want to try that route now,” Junet stated.

Just after the BBI win in Parliament,  Ruto next day arranged for a meeting at Susan Kihika’s home in Nakuru where they reportedly deliberated on his succession ambitions. Sources however, whispered to Homenews.co.ke that the meeting purely focused on restrategising after suffering humiliation on BBI.

At such a rate, Ruto’s job now hangs on a delicate thread and just like Jubilee Vice Chairman David Murathe has been warning, there is a high chance that Ruto may lose his job any time.

The strength in Jubilee was made possible by the coming in of ODM Party which also boasts of huge numbers on both Chambers.
