The police boss was reportedly rushed to the Aga Khan facility in Nairobi last Thursday night when his health deteriorated. Sources have reported that he was immediately admitted to the Intensive Care Unit(ICU). He would later be moved to the High Dependency Unit HDU before he was brought to the general ward.

People Daily quoted senior ranking officers who declined to comment on the matter as a section said they were not aware of his health status.

More voices from the security corridors whispered that, until news about his hospitalization, the IG was not reporting on duty.

One of the signals that raised eyebrows about his health is after he failed to appear on his Engage the IG weekly show where he takes questions from members of the public. This made a larger section of Kenyans believe he was not fine.

Mr. Mutyambai’s health reports are coming just days after a GSU Deputy Commander William Singoei was found dead.

The diseased who used to reside in Embakasi Garrison was discovered dead in his room as his colleagues promised to launch investigations into his death.

Cause of death is yet to be announced.
