Friday May 21, 2021 -Jubilee leadership has challenged Deputy President William Ruto and his celebrating lieutenants to walk out of the Jubilee parent party if they think they are strong enough to win elections.

In their respective official statement over the just ended by-elections which DP Ruto’s less known party UDA won,  Secretary General Raphael Tuju and Vice Chairman David Murathe have said that the loss they suffered is  insignificant if the number of voters who turned out on the voting day is anything to go by.

Making the remarks on Citizen Tv last Thursday May 20, Mr. Tuju observed that all the recent by-elections witnessed a very low voter turnout as compared to any past general election and that Ruto’s celebrations will not therefore distract them.

“Those who have won in the by-elections, a few wards where turnout was very low and the dynamics are completely different with a general election, they have every right to celebrate but we will be back,” he said.

On his part David Murathe added that only 18 percent turn in Juja Constituency and Rurii Ward cannot make Ruto feel so big in Mt Kenya.

For instance in Juja, Peoples Empowerment Party PEP candidate George Koimburi garnered upto 12,159 votes and was followed by Jubilee’s Susan Waititu who got only 5,746 votes as the total votes cast being only 21,862. 150 were rejected.

Juja Constituency, according to IEBC latest records, has a total of 184 polling stations with 115,000 registered voters.

“If Ruto’s allies believe that they are strong enough, let them move out of the Jubilee Party so that we conduct little general elections in their constituencies,” Murathe said while appearing on KTN News.

He defended that, as of now, it was hard for Uhuru to focus his energy on competing with Ruto in elections because he has a duty to complete for the country.
